This student was amazing to work with. He always came ready to work and never gave up even when we weren’t making great progress on paper. He and his family could see a major improvement in his determination and confidence which was enough encouragement to keep him going. He ended up raising his grade and increasing his confidence. I know I said it above, but it’s worth saying again: He was so great to work with!!

This student worked extremely hard on getting and keeping her grade up in Honors Geometry. By the 4th quarter, she ended up on the Honor Roll with All As! Amazing job!!

When we started 2 years ago, this student was struggling with his multiplication tables and really hated division. This year he had a little adjusting period moving to middle school, but quickly overcame that and now has been recommended to Advanced Math next school year. He’s worked so hard and really enjoys when I challenge him. I’m so proud!!!

This student and I started working together after the New Year. He put in a lot of mental sweat equity into raising his grade. Today I received a really nice thank you to close out the school year. It's little things like these that let me know that the students and their families appreciate my efforts in helping them.

This student was doing really well during one of her sessions so I introduced her to multiplying binomials (FOIL-ing). She understood the concept pretty well. So much so that she told me to give her a challenge problem and said "don't help me." She completed it correctly with no help. Two days later, she is shown the topic in class. She ended up doing the most difficult problems, completed the bonus correctly, and ended up getting about a 129% on the assignment! Just two months ago, she was at a high F/low D grade. This is AMAZING progress! Her hard work is really paying off!

This student and I have worked a long time on two step equations. He was doing pretty well on two step inequalities but struggling a little with graphing. After showing him a trick with how the arrow should go on the graph, he understood it right away. This is amazing score!

This student has really worked hard this year in Algebra II. This test was on summations and arithmetic and geometric sequences. She almost got a 100%! on that test! When we did a review the night before her test she demonstrated extreme confidence in this topic. Her confidence has improved so much since we started working together!

This student wanted to do some extra homework and now is interested in continuing tutoring throughout the summer! She was unsure about tutoring at first, but after a handful of sessions she's quickly seen how much it's helped her improve.

This student had an upcoming test on Circles in Geometry and was happy that she had a session scheduled with me the night before. Did you notice how she was "GLAD" to meet to do math?!

This student has been working really hard since the Fall and has really found his footing in class. I'm so proud of his progress! This score is amazing!

This student and I had only two sessions before her first quiz grade did a dramatic 180º! Although this isn't the norm, we all were pretty excited!

This student and I have only worked together for 2 sessions. He had a D+ when we started and pulled off a 93% A on his most recent test! Normally we don't see results this quickly. I told him at the end of our last session that I'd be pleased if he got a C or B, but I could easily see him becoming an A student. He's made amazing progress in just two sessions!

A few years ago I tutored this student. He had been out of school for a while and both he and his mom wanted a couple "brush-up" sessions. He ended up doing so well he tested out of two math classes and just graduated with a 3.9 GPA. Absolutely amazing! Mom's comments here are so gratifying!

This student has been great to work with. He got a 79% on a recent test when his previous test score was a 35%. This is massive improvement. We still have work to do, but this is a great achievement!!

What a compliment!!! I'd be lying if I said this didn't make me tear up a little.I tutored this student 2 years ago and am so happy to hear that he's doing well on his own now!

I've been working with this student for about a month. His skills are pretty good though it's not showing on paper so his confidence is really needing a boost. I'm really working to help boost his confidence and convince him he's as smart as the rest of us know he is.

This student was pretty nervous at this first session until I spent some time getting to know him (outside of math) and when he found out that I help a buddy of his. Then I showed him an easier way to complete the topic he was currently learning. He was smiling and excited that he was getting every one of my math questions correct. He's already looking forward to next week! I love it when they look forward to working with me next. I can't wait to see his grade and attitude towards math improve!

I've been impatiently waiting for this student's most recent Geometry test to be graded. He's been working hard with me and it's paid off! I am so proud!!

I helped a new student tonight who’s having a rough go in class. Glad to see he felt his first night of tutoring was helpful!

This student has been so much fun to tutor! He always comes smiling, though he “doesn’t love math.” He aced his slope test, getting a 100%, and I couldn’t be more proud! I just might be able to convert him to a math lover yet! Haha!!

I solicit feedback from my students pretty often. It helps me gauge whether I need to try a different teaching strategy. I had a session with this student last night and am so proud to see this response!

I’m sure some of my students and parents find me a little annoying, but I do follow up with many of my students, especially when we first start tutoring. This gives me feedback on my teaching methods and if I need to try explaining something differently. This message definitely made me happy!

I love hearing from my current and former students. Look at this note I received this morning. Talk about a proud moment! Teaching math confidence and to overcome math anxiety are two things I really focus on while tutoring. I’m so proud of this fella!!

This Thank You card is from another one of my students. We started 3 years ago and he went from him not wanting to come to tutoring at all, to this previous summer he was making sure his mom contacted me so we were ready to start the very first week of school. He was such a trooper!

A student wished me Happy Birthday. I really do care for them as if they were my own kids!!

I hadn’t tutored Calculus in about 12 years and admitted this to this parent (mom) when she sought my help for her son. I told her I’d be a bit rusty, but I was 100% up for the challenge. I’m so happy he did well and thankful I was given this opportunity! I love teaching Calculus but I don’t get to help with it as often as I’d like!

I started with this student the year before last and he was not not a fan of the thought of math tutoring. Fast forward to this year; last summer he made sure his mom got with me and we scheduled sessions the VERY FIRST week of school because he didn’t want to fall behind.

Now look! At the end of the year he gets a 102% on his final exam! I’m so proud of him of not only asking for help but kicking math’s butt and takin’ names!!

This is the 6th grade state test from one of my students in California. She’s made a 150% growth this year! We tutor once a week and started shortly after the September assessment was given. I’m SOOO very proud of her growth!

I got this from a parent this morning. This student was really struggling last year. It really makes me so proud to see this incredible progress this year. She’s had a lot of things stacked against her and is still winning at Algebra 2!

Seriously?! From a student who “HATES” math! I am without words!

These are the messages that make me so happy. After having an online session Monday, I felt that she really grasped this concept. She was able to do a retake and CRUSHED it! And now, her overall Algebra 2 grade for Q3 is awesome too!

This really made me feel awesome! I checked with this student to see if he wanted tutoring tonight. He said he really didn’t need tutoring but still wanted to come. What?! A teenager wanting to hang out and do EXTRA math?! And this student doesn’t even love math!! We did review current topics they’re doing in class and I gave him a preview lesson of what they’ll be doing tomorrow in class.
It’s a great feeling to know students WANT to learn math with me! I make it easy and try to make it a little less boring than what happens in the regular classroom.

I appreciate this so much! This student was my first official solely online student. I asked the parent to please be patient because I hadn’t even used online technology to teach, and I’d never tried to establish a bond with a student via online only. Within the first 10 minutes we all knew it had already been a success. I’m so glad they gave me the opportunity to challenge my tutoring skills and now we’ve opened an opportunity to so many more students.

Love updates like these, also! This student has done really well this year and hasn’t needed much help. This is my ultimate goal, for each student to become independent and eventually not need my help.

I had a college pal send me an SOS tonight for her 4th grade son. He was struggling with one of math’s “F-words”….FRACTIONS.

I had a little 30 minute or so Meet and Greet session tonight with a new online student. We also covered a couple quick concepts so she could get a “feel” of my style of teaching. Of course, I’m humbled with the parent’s follow-up comment.
